The Orphan Child Project aims to teach English to children in Orphanages and poverty stricken areas in and around Sri Lanka. We believe that the quality of education a person receives in early life is indispensable in bringing out that person’s potential, and that all children should have access to quality learning and care.
Hope through Education
“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Stephen Grellet

Bethlehem Creche - An Update
The children at the Bethlehem Creche have shown great improvement since we started teaching them English nearly two months ago. They learn several poems each week and recite their favorite one the following week. This is certainly encouraging to the volunteers of The Street Child Project knowing our time and energy are being put to good use. They enjoy reading picture and word books and take turns in twos and threes repeating what they have just learnt. Their enthusiasm and passion for learning a language that is foreign to them is incredible and it gives us great hope!
